Monkey Madness: Monkey Island 1 & 2

What works

The initial win32 splash screen displays when running the executable madness.exe. All buttons that launch documentation files function as expected.

What does not

None of the actual games work on my configuration (both the full games Monkey Island 1 & 2, and the Demo for Curse of Monkey Island which is also on the disk). In all cases, the application tries to take full control of the screen and enter a DOS VGA mode, but after the display is switched, the screen remains black. I have tried running the application in different compatibility modes, including windows 3.1, 95, 2000, and XP. When enabling the 'virtual desktop' in winecfg and running the application from a wine cmd prompt, the virtual desktop window displays a window that shows the DOS VGA screen which remains black.
