What works

The game works as you would expect it to do so under Windows. Sound works. Statistics feature works. Moving people, researching, opening tech tree, and milestones all work.

What does not

When you switch to fullscreen mode, the game might act a bit weird for a short time and sometimes it gets stuck in the transition.

The screen also flashes a few times (black and grey flashes) on my computer when switching between the game and another program (like Discord), if the game is in full screen, but it is not a big issue.  It just makes switching between the game and other apps inconvenient,

Workarounds

If the game is stuck after turning the fullscreen option, just switch to another program using alt-tab and then switch back to the game. And you can use windowed mode to switch easily.

What was not tested

I only played the game for about an hour so I don't know if there will be any issues later in the game. The game plays pretty much the same throughout so I don't think there should be any issues.

Additional Comments

I used Qt4Wine to launch the game. The specific command used:

/usr/bin/env  WINE='/usr/bin/wine'  WINEPREFIX='/home/krul/.wine'  WINESERVER='/usr/bin/wineserver'  WINELOADER='/usr/bin/wine'  WINEDEBUG='-all'  /bin/sh -c "cd '/home/krul/WindowsApps/Virtual Villagers 1 - A New Home/' &&   '/usr/bin/wine'   'VirtualVillagers.exe'  2>&1 "

Qt4Wine was only used to generate this command automatically,

Also Wine was downloaded from the local distro repository.

Update: I was able to run game by running wine VirtualVillagers.exe and this time using the standard wine stable version 5.0.2  (installed using sudo apt install --install-recommends winehq-stable).

The terminal threw this output but there was no difference that I could notice in the game:

0009:fixme:ntdll:NtQuerySystemInformation info_class SYSTEM_PERFORMANCE_INFORMATION

On a side note, running the game through "Open with Wine Windows Program Loader" context menu option didn't work giving this error:  Video memory not detected

I guess its probably because my computer only has integrated graphics but I am not sure why wouldn't work with it.
