- Installation works, but can't add a start menu directory(errors below)
- Playing game works just fine, saving and restoring a game works
Game works just as I have remembered it when playing on Windows'98, but with faster response from the game UI.
This does not affect the speed of the events in the game.
Deinstallation through Sierra Setup.
What does not
- Creating start menu
DDEConnect error 400a (Popping up every time the setup tries to create a new Startup Menu entry)
Setup was unable to create program group called Sierra (and later Rama)
Setup was unable to add an item for Setup & Uninstall to a program
- Deinstallation through Start Menu Items as none could be created.
What was not tested
Nothing I could think of.
I did install DirectX 9.0c but I don't know if that will affect this game. The Sierra Installer has a curious glitch when it starts: only the first S of "Sierra" is visible. This might relate to the DDraw bug in Wine that paints to the background rather than a superimposed layer. I have encounter the DDEConnect A400 error with numerous other games from that era.
