The game only runs with 16-bit color, so you need to use Xephyr or another workaround. The script I use:
Xephyr :1 -ac -screen 640x480x16 &
From that xterm, cd to the directory you installed the game in and run spooky2.exe with Wine.
Most of the actual gameplay works fine once you've got it running. The exceptions are listed below.
What does not
Most of the dialogue (Skeleton reading the riddle for each area when you enter, his rhymes after solving the riddle, etc.) Oddly enough, Skeleton saying the name of the object after you click on it works fine.
Attempting to escape the mansion the first time gives an error:
List expected for handler
Script Error. Continue?
Choosing "Yes" just gives a black screen.
What was not tested
Anything after the first escape, due to the crash.
