Lotus Organizer 6.1 includes all the great functionality in Lotus Organizer 6, plus the following enhancements:
Compatibility with Windows 2000 and Windows XP Enhanced install program using Microsoft Software Installer (MSI) Fixes for customer-reported issues
Most things work so far - have created calendar entries, anniversary, notes, and successfully linked items. Also was able to set and use preferences. And, the cool page turn sound works.
What does not
Dropdowns for Category and Date/Time don't work in Calendar. Typing the entry manually works fine.
What was not tested
This app has tons of functionality. Still working on checking out the planner and showing through or including other files and tabs.
Installed wine via MacPorts 'wine @1.4.1 (x11)' port. Installed Organizer as normal: typed 'wine' (no quotes, of course), a space, then dragged 'setup.exe' icon from install disk to Terminal to get path to 'setup.exe'. Got error message during installation saying "invalid user name". After installation, went to path ~/.wine/drive_c/lotus/org6/organize and ran 'wine org6.exe'. This gave several 'missing DLL' messages. Either copy contents from ~/.wine/drive_c/lotus/org6/compnent as described above OR do one of the following to get Organizer to run: - run 'wine EasyClip6.exe' instead. This will open a tiny window that looks like the System Tray area of Windows, with an Organizer icon displayed. Click on the icon, select Start Lotus Organizer, and it will start up. - from the ~ (home) directory, type 'wine start org6.exe'. This will start Organizer straight up.
