I am using Kubuntu 14.04 64 bit os. With Nvidia proprietary drivers. I am not forcing a 32 bit wine prefix. Virtual desktop on or off makes no difference to my game. This is a clean install of wine with mono, gecko, and basic .net support installed by wine of course. Install directx9 using winetricks. xaudio2_0.dll from the game folder or an online source, Must be placed in home/.wine/c:/windows/system32 folder. Depending on your distro. Save the following link (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=18560) as sound.reg and import it with: wine regedit sound.reg Open winecfg and set Windows version to Windows 7 or add the .exe file that you want to run the game to that list, And make it win 7 compatible. In my case i used the cod5sp.exe, Since i dont do multiplayer.
