What works

Media library
G-Force visualizatin plugin works on 100%
Playing CD-DA and some music and video.
Ripping CD-DA to WMA

What does not

Music make 2 sec lag when start and when I use progress bar, stop key works fine

WMV video files play very fast, faster that music

Not all video and audio files can be played. Today, MP3 can't works! WMA and WAV works fine and without lags. If I am using Ubuntu 7.10, I don't see changes of visualization diagramms with WAv files and CD-DA playing, only with WMA files. If I am using Ubuntu 8.04, it works fine.

Multimedia keyboard keys

Media Guide needs Wine Gecko and native Internet Explorer (use Internet Explorer Solution (IES) program)

Program can play not all video files

Program needs install more russian fonts

Settings window of program can't be runned

Battery visualization works only with native quartz and devenum libraries, Diagramm now works fine without this

Some bugs with decoration: main window looks bad if it haven't his window frame (not in skins)

Media Player crashes if I left "Playing" tab and return to this.

If I minimize window, I see a window about minimizing and little Media Player in tray, and can't close this window!

Additional Comments

I install this only besause G-Force visualization needs this. It works. Not need to copy quartz.dll and devenum.dll to ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32. I paste this to WMP directory to play Morrowind normally without this. Before installation, you need put native jscript.dll to ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32/ and type regsvr32 jscript - you will see a windows, not string of console like older versions of Wine. Many error and fixme strings in console

HowTo / Notes

(Updated 2015-04-18)

The easiest way to install WMP9 is with winetricks.

For mp3 playback to work, you must have 32 bit libmpg123 installed on your system and Wine must have been compiled with mp3 support. Not all distro packages have this. The workaround for lack of mp3 support in a distro package is to use the codec installed by WMP9 itself,  l3codeca.acm. To do this, after installing WMP9 with winetricks, create a symlink named winemp3.acm in the wineprefix's /windows/system32 directory, with l3codeca.acm as the target.

Video playback does not work.
