The installer does work, but some buttons don't render correctly, but users who have installed Adobe CS4 before will know where the buttons roughly are.
NOTE: I installed, or tried to install, all the components in Adobe CS4 Web Premium.
Programs that DO install from the suite are:
--> Adobe Dreamweaver CS4
--> Adobe Fireworks CS4
--> Adobe Soundbooth CS4
--> Adobe Illustrator CS4
--> Adobe Contribute CS4
--> Adobe Bridge CS4
--> Components that come with these programs.
What does not
The installer has a problem and doesn't install these programs for some reason:
--> Adobe Flash Pro CS4
--> Adobe Photoshop CS4
Sometimes the panel texts and menu texts are rendered incorrectly, or are hard to read, so from WineTricks, you will need this package - fontsmooth-rgb
What was not tested
Functionality within the installable programs.
Here is a list of packages I installed in WineTricks before I ran the installation: --> corefonts --> d3dx9 --> dotnet11 --> fontsmooth-rgb --> gdiplus --> gecko --> ie6 --> jet40 --> mdac28 --> msxml6 --> tahoma --> vcrun2005 --> winxp Sometimes it won't install all of these components in one if you decide to try and do so, so patience is required. :) Also, errors will occur during installation, but will continue installing even if you did click a button that says "Close", "Continue" or "Quit", but Photoshop and Flash definitely didn't install, for me anyway. :)

CS4 can be installed with wine but it requires a few tricks.
You will need either a wine from 1.1.17 or before, or a wine from git with b8965ee7c90a687af4c84ad0ede73b1df901e16c reverted and this patch applied.
Run the commands below in order:
wget http://winezeug.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/winetricks chmod +x winetricks sh winetricks msxml6 gdiplus gecko vcrun2005sp1 ie6 mdac28 jet40 winxp wine setup.exe
Acrobat 9 needs to be selected not to install for the installation to work correctly. If anything goes wrong, the installation files will usually reside in Program Files/Common Files/Adobe, along with a setup log that is usually useless.
