...Everything...under some conditions...
What does not
vanilla wine version 3.1 (compiled from source) crashes when connection to server progress bar reaches the end, crashes without error
Workarounds
software:
kernel 4.11 with BFS scheduler
also tested on kernel 4.14.18 with MuQSS scheduler
hardware:

wine 3.0 (WOW64) patched with nine 3.0 git build 8 feb 2018, built from source:
mesa versions:
17.2.8
17.3.3
18.0.0-rc4
all have graphic bugs:
characters are black when flashlight is off
disabling SweetFX with the disable key renders the main menu completely green
other graphic corruptions such as textures disappearing and suddenly reappearing at some view angles
mesa 17.1.x works without graphic errors, but has some mouse lag spikes
mesa 18.x was tested, but it has other problems such as sudden mouse lag spikes
so I came up with a hybrid "driver": use mesa 17.3.3 (32-bit) but manually copied d3dadapter9.so.1.0.0 from mesa version 17.1.10
What was not tested
nVidia graphics drivers
Hardware tested
