Installer works with Wine 1.1.14, if you skip DirectX install.

What does not

The game does not start; main.exe exits without bringing up anything.

Wine outputs fixme lines about stub routines in the console. No crash, though. Not sure about this, but these could be the most relevant lines:

The game (demo) can be forced to run with OpenGL by editing the file etc/Config.prc and replace pandadx9 with pandagl (didn't try pandadx8)
