What works

  • Copying an installation to and from Windows 2000
  • Receiving email on more than one account via POP3, with or without encryption
  • Composing plain-text email.
  • Sending email via SMTP with encryption.
  • Some add-ons, including:
    • Allow HTML Temp 2.0.1
    • Lightning 0.9 (minor testing)

What does not

  • Minimizing windows.  Upon clicking the minimize button, the window minimizes and immediately restores itself.  This applies to the main window, as well as child windows such as Add-ons and mail composition windows.
  • Help, as I've seen mentioned for other apps, fails to launch a web browser.
  • The Spamato4Thunderbird add-on.  (This could be a Java configuration issue or other problem.)

What was not tested

  • A fresh install.  Portable Thunderbird is intended to be copied among multiple machines without installation.
  • IMAP
  • HTML email composition
  • Probably many other things I didn't think of.

Hardware tested

  • GPU:
  • Driver:
