Additional Comments
Basically, this is the problem: The entire game works perfectly fine in terms of the engine, etc. The problem is that the entire thing is basically a black screen, and all of the images are hidden. The black screen is also present in Crossover 12.2.2, but is NOT present in Winebottler's Wine 1.4.1.4 (where the game is playable). If the black screen can be lifted and the images and dialogue can be seen, this game would be Platinum.

Modify the settings in the userconf.exe file that comes with the game to use gdi directly (can be rather difficult as it's all in japanese).

This screenshot gives you an idea of which settings affect
performance the most; From top to bottom, change the options marked in
the screenshot with a * to
/ dibsect
/ no
/ gdi
/ api
The game will give and error and not allow you to continue gameplay when attempting to play videos. A workaround for this issue is to simply delete the video.xp3 file found in the working directory.
