What works
It installs perfectly, It runs ( See the How To on how to make it run. ), you can walk, you can talk but the chat box goes blank sometimes so you have to click on the tack at the top right of the chat box to fix that. You can teleport, you can telegram ( If you are a citizen.), you can build, you can fly ( If the keys for flying aren't on the numpad. ), you can jump ( If the key for jumping isn't on the numpad. ) 3D rendering ( If all you see is a black screen go to Options > Settings go to the tab Video and select Software Renderer. ), shifting through solids, toggling grid by pressing F10, creating custom avatars ( It is much harder to make CAV's in WINE because the box were you can see yourself while editing your CAV doesn't appear. ), you can change worlds without a problem if you are able to enter them.
What does not
All the keys on the numpad don't work except for the keys "Num Lock" and "Enter" so anything like flying or jumping wont work unless you change the key for the function. You can't do anything that you can normally do with the keyboard while building except for typing into an input box. So if you want to duplicate an item "Insert" won't work, you have to do it manually with the buttons.
Workarounds
What was not tested
Bots, world settings, creating Care Takers for worlds.
Hardware tested

Additional Comments
It runs fine if you follow the How To but it's pretty laggy if you can't run Direct3D and have to use the software renderer.

Open up the Terminal ( It would normally be in Applications > Accessories. ) and paste in the three commands:
If you have a wine older than 1.1.12, you'll also have to do sh winetricks directx9 to work around a crash bug (bug 16293).
This works for Ubuntu 8.04 and 8.10; it may not for other versions of Linux.
