Additional Comments

The following steps were necessary to run the game properly: Solution 1 (the easy one): Let the game start normally in fullscreen mode. It will freeze but in the background its still active. press ALT+RETURN to switch from fullscreen to window mode. The game will be windowed now and unfreeze, you may control it totally normal. After you start a new game or load or whatever, press ALT+Return again to switch to fullscreen. It seems to work good so far. Solution 2 (the ugly one): - After installing the game, open zoo.ini in the zoo tycoon folder. Change fullscreen=1 to fullscreen=0. Set the zoo.ini file read only, else the game will write fullscreen=1 back to it and starts fullscreen (and freezes). - Start the game. It hopefully opens in a window. The game is not updating the screen. To force it, move the game window a bit. That's the tricky part: Whenever you start the game, you have to move the window, check out the new view, click the option you like, move the window again, check the new view and click and so on. - Navigate as quick as possible into a new game. Activate the fullscreen option. Play the game (The game is now refreshing the content by itself without force you to move the window. Its playable now). These steps will be necessary whenever you start the game. Solution 3 (this might work too) Activate the option "tutorial=1" at the zoo.ini (lock it read only afterwards). With this option set, the game will always start its tutorial at start-up and you can change the setting there to fullscreen (or press ALT+RETURN). -_=-_-_=-_-_=-_-_=-_-_=-_-_=-_-_=-_-_=-_-_=-_-_=-_ Other problems that appeared: Sometimes the game crashes, reason unknown till now (maybe its because of the locked zoo.ini of solution 2 and 3). Sometimes the sound dies in the game and is not resurrecting. Solution: Restart the game (at least, Zoo Tycoon is a product of Microsoft).
