What works

The Installation is working great. Ingame Sound works out of the Box, for Music, you must add native DLL's from a working Windows to Wine (Look in the Additional Comments for my Tutorial, how to do this). For perfect Sound you have to choose ALSA in Winecfg.

You will get the best Performanceif you run Wine windowed (1280x800 for my native 1440x900) and Gothic fullscreen in this windowed Wine.

Ingame Videos stuck with my fglrx 8.12 driver. So I've just removed them from /home/USERNAME/.wine/dosdevices/c:/Program Files/JoWooD/Gothic/_work/DATA/video
I could play through all the Game without any problems.

Loading and Saving works also great.

What does not

Changing Graphical Preferences ingame crashs the game, so you have to edit this in the Gothic.ini in /home/USERNAME/.wine/dosdevices/c:/Program Files/JoWooD/Gothic/system.

The Game will not start if you haven't native DLL's for music and music is enabled in the Gothic.ini

Additional Comments

Installing the native DLL's: You have to copy dmband.dll, dmime.dll, dmloader.dll, dmstyle.dll, dmsynth.dll, dmusic.dll and dmcompos.dll from a Windows system32 folder to the system32 folder of Wine. Now you have to add them in Winecfg (type winecfg in the Terminal). Click on "Libraries" and choose every of the DLL's mentioned above and click on Add.
