HowTo / Notes

Mix with Linux version

If you install the Linux version on the same computer as you have the Windows version under Wine, both might share the firstclass folder in your home (~) directory, depending on Wine setup.

This means that saved login details and settings will be accessable from both the Windows and Linux version. As the Linux version is older (at the time of writing) than the Windows version, you should be aware that if FirstClass was to change settings formats this may cause problems. I have however not noticed any, my settings are loaded fine by both the Windows and Linux clients.

Open FirstClass attachments and links
If you want to be able to open attachments and web links from FirstClass in you local Linux applications, do this (All versions):

1. Download the files winenative
and open_native.reg

2. In a terminal:
# As root
sudo cp winenative /usr/bin/
sudo chmod +x /usr/bin/winenative
# As normal user
regedit open_native.reg

3. All done!
