Doing a standard install of quicken in Wine with gecko, the application installs successfully but the visuals are misaligned and I was unable to click on many of the buttons.
However, if I install Quicken 2005 Home and Business and then *upgrade* to Quicken 2009, I have a usable version of Quicken installed.
What does not
Without an upgrade: visuals are way off (buttons in the wrong spots, etc.), unable to click on tabs.
With an upgrade: Still cannot register this copy of Quicken. The help system fails giving a COM error pop-up box and no other information.
What was not tested
I would suggest downloading (or borrowing) some older version of Quicken just to install it then upgrade. I tried many combinations of installations including wine versions 1.1.7-1.1.13 with different combinations of gecko and IE (and DCOM) and the only thing that worked was upgrading.
