Burnout Paradise

What works

Everything seems to work. No problems with the menu, and the gameplay and graphics are perfect. The ConfigTool works too.

Installation was completed under an earlier version of Ubuntu (Intrepid) and Wine (1.0.1) without incident. As others have said, if there's a delay near the end of installation, just give it some time.

What does not

There's a reasonably good probability the game will crash when starting a mission or suchlike. 

Performance is reduced compared to Windows, and I'm unable to increase the graphics settings from their lowest levels without the game crashing.

nvidia 185.18.36, Asus 9800GT, E7200, 4x1GB Geil There's a lot of console output when the game is running (err:d3d:...) so I normally redirect stderr to /dev/null to reduce the load on the CPU. (e.g. wine foo/bar/BurnoutLauncher.exe 2>/dev/null) Aside: Under nvidia-glx-177 in Ubuntu Intrepid, I was unable to start BurnoutLauncher.exe without an immediate crash.
