What works
The installation works fine.
The program loads fine, but for every window inside the program (like palettes and tool box) a new "entry" in the task bar (I'm using gnome) appears.
Painting runs fine. Most of the brushes and features were tested.
What does not
Pressure doesn't work out of the box. Checking the system information of artweaver (Help > System info...) shows that he detects the tablet.
I'm using a wacom and GIMP works fine with pressure.
Running the program for about 10 min (painting) the following error has occurred (two times):
Error protocol:
[5/2/2009 14:13:04] Fatal Error: Externe Exception C000001D
[5/2/2009 15:02:10] Fatal Error: Externe Exception C000001D
After this error the mouse clicks doesn't work on any place. I have to quit the error dialog using "alt + F4" (than mouse clicks come back and I can even continue to painting).
Also various pull down/pop-up menus (for example in the Brushes dialog, the brush type) draw behind the dialog toolbox (like the comment "Workarounds" by Bill). But using his workaround (uncheck "Allow the window manager to control the windows") turns out to be worse: All the toolbox disappear and only minimizing / maximizing that makes than appear.
Workarounds
What was not tested
Almost nothing.
But I didn't make a huge test painting something complex.
