Drag and drop, file compare, change copying, and save.
What does not
Right click text file with quick menu option (in Gnome).. Windows permits one to quickly run winmerge on two selected files, but drag dropping is better than having to load from the file requester.
What was not tested
Directory compare and change application between directories.
This can be very useful if you have a backup copy of a tree of code but are not sure which version is recent, or are trying to track down bugs that may have made it into a new piece of code. I use it to publish web content by inserting PHP code into a standard template that changes only in looks. Also winmerge permits me to edit the file directly before saving out. I don't know of a program on Linux like it but would sure like to know as it isn't quite as nice as it is on windows but at least drag and drop works.
