All search functions seem to work properly, including All Words, Any word near... Highlighting search terms works as well.
What does not
The only thing I could find that doesn't work is "File | Properties" (nothing happens). The first time I ran the program, it asked for Gecko. After installing Gecko it wouldn't run anymore. Having uninstalled Wine, Searchopia, and Gecko, and reinstalled Wine and Searchopia, it now works again, but continues to ask for Gecko on every run.
What was not tested
I tried all the functions I ordinarily use.
Searchopia is my favorite desktop search engine. It doesn't waste time, resources and disk space by building an index.I would have been really disappointed if I hadn't gotten it to work. The first time I installed it, it started right up with no problem. Unfortunately it asked to install Gecko, after which it immediately froze, and continued to freeze thereafter. I uninstalled it, uninstalled Wine, erased the .Wine folder, and then reinstalled everything. Now when it asks for Gecko I refuse, and everything seems to work fine. I haven't tried searching in Word documents as this was ureliable anyway with Windows (not simple documents, but any complex documents tended to have display problems).
