TOAD

This is the minimal version you need for working with database releases greater or equal than 10g.

And is very stable and luckily not that overloaded with "beautiful" features (and a lot of bugs) as appear from version 9 upwards.

What works

There are so much features in this application, it is not possible to list them all. Generally, it seems to me, that everything works especially the following things that are listed as not working with releases 9 somewhere here:

Tablespace Map, Keeping Schema/SID, Saving Preferences, Formatter Options, Connect, of course.

and of special interest for me:
Team-Coding Features, Compiling Packages, Functions, Procedures, DBA/DatabaseMonitor, DBA/ServerStatistics, Tools/RebuildTable, ...

What does not

Sometimes a MessageBox appears, saying "Access Violation", as we know from this product as well, when running natively on WinXP, but it seems to happen more often. Does NOT disturb the functionality of the product.

Additional Comments

Wine 1.0.1, don't know, why it should not be allowed to use the stable version. I had to copy over an installed oraclient from a winxp machine and I had to add ORACLE_HOME='C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\client_1 and' TNS_ADMIN='C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\client_1\NETWORK\ADMIN' with regedit in the Key "Environment". I had to add ';C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\client_1\bin' to the PATH-Variable with regedit. I must add ORACLE_HOME='C:\oracle\product\0.2.0\client_1' TNS_ADMIN='C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\client_1\NETWORK\ADMIN' in the bash environment from which wine will be called.
