The install somewhat.
small box appears and can't do much with,
it seams to finish install, but doesn't say so.
(I think I tried it then and it worked, but for some reason I decided to copy the SimCity 4 files from my Vista partition, and that's were the rest of the tests come from)
using this line to startup: (There was some stuff before this but with it the link didn't work)
wine "C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe\Apps\SimCity 4.exe" -r1920x1200x32 -Intro:off -d:Software
This turns off the intro (because I didn't want to see it, not because it didn't work)
sets resolution to 1920x1200x32 (my resolution)
puts it in software mode (slower but doesn't have errors like hardware mode, see below)
What does not
Having the shortcut with whatever was before the main part of the shortcut
It takes awhile before it starts up.
Sometimes starts ok but eventually display errors occur.
buildings/trees become polygons of different solid colors (seams affect by zoom level) and
anything with text or icons the whole thing turns white and is impossible to read.
In the tutorials the yellow highlights as to where to put the items would disapear if the draging was done on and then off the square
Cars etc, aren't fully drawn
May occationaly freeze.
Sometimes(not often) when moving the mouse away form somethings, things don't get errased. (Just change the zoom, or something like that, and it works)
Sometimes after doing a 'Rush Hour' event the left arrow was stuck on. (didn't test if it was just my keyboard stuck)
Must manually shut down wine processes after closing SimCity 4
away to shutdown wine afterwords,
ksysguard %U (or Alt+Ctrl+Delete,(or whatever the shortcut is) and pick Show Task Manager in the upper left corner)
choose select and kill services.exe, wineboot.exe, wineserver. (killing some might kill other wine processes)(kill is aka end task)
If ran from within a terminal, the terminal recieves bunch of errors at startup then alot of
fixme:imm:ImmGetOpenStatus (0x7f02bd30): semi-stub
errors during game.
What was not tested
Lowest quality settings.

By default, SimCity 4 only allows you to use resolutions up to 1280x1024, but it's very easy to use any resolution you want, just add this to your launcher/start script:
Replace 1920x1080 with your desired resolution.
