What works

Installer works but its very slow.  When you encounter the 2nd CD, you aren't allowed to eject it.  Doing some research, I found an easy way to get through the whole install without using any cracks or copying anything.

All you have to do is open up the terminal and type "wine eject".  Thats it, and then the setup continues.

The main menu of the game always works, but gameplay is a different story.

What does not

I'm using a Radeon 9200.  I can't remember if I tested the game in Windows with this card, but I thought remembering it didn't work.  Fortunately in Linux, it does work but certain effects such as clouds just appear as transparent black squares.  When playing the game it looked fine, everything was there and ran as it should (I didn't test very long).  I ran an update and then when I ran the game again, I don't know what happened but gameplay was extra slow and the lighting was... off, or something.  I couldn't see nearly anything.  I'll see what I can do about it but I might have to run the game without an update.

What was not tested

I didn't test the tutorial, and so far I didn't see any green in the water like another review said.  I haven't encountered any errors, but I have noticed that some options undo themselves depending on what options you change.

Additional Comments

I'm guessing my video card is the problem for my visual errors and poor performance, so expect better results if you have a newer card.

By default, SimCity 4 only allows you to use resolutions up to 1280x1024, but it's very easy to use any resolution you want, just add this to your launcher/start script:

-CustomResolution:enabled -r1920x1080x32

Replace 1920x1080 with your desired resolution.
