    HowTo / Notes

    Integrate into KDE context menu

    To have a context menu in KDE (e.g. Dolphin):

    • add the following file:

      (in KDE 5 moved to ~./local/share/kservices5/ServiceMenus)
    [Desktop Entry]
    [Desktop Action Virtualdub]
    Name=Compress using Virtualdub
    Exec=~/bin/ ~/path/default-compression.vcf "%f"
    • create a "default-compression.vcf" somewhere by Save processing settings... from Virtualdub. (includes current filters and codec settings)
    • add the following file, make it executable
    export WINEPREFIX=~/.wine
    VCF=$(winepath -w "$1")
    JOBS=$(winepath -w ~/path/
    VIDEO=$(winepath -w "$2")
    #echo $WINE $VDUB /master $JOBS /s $VCF $VIDEO
    $WINE $VDUB /master $JOBS /s $VCF $VIDEO

    If you don't need compression presets, you may remove all VCF stuff. If you want to use the default JOBS file, you may remove all JOBS stuff.
