Installation through Steam.
What does not
Launching of the game.
What was not tested
Everything beyond attempting to launch the game.
A BugSplat Error Report box immediately appears offering to send a report to the developers. As is the case for Dawn of War 2: Retribution, this can be bypassed by using native msasn1 and wintrust dlls, as well as restoring content.cat from a backup on every launch attempt. However, doing all of this still does not get the game to run. Instead, what you get is "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Dawn of War 2\dow2.exe -logs" hogging 100% CPU, and no window appears. The "drive_c/users/username/My\ Documents/My\ Games/Dawn\ of\ War\ 2/Logfiles/warnings.txt" log file will always show "NetworkManager::Create - creating network manager" as the last line, and you'll need to kill the dow2.exe process. Since the log was networking-related, I even tried running Steam in offline mode and disconnecting the network, to no avail. I also tried various parameters, such as -nomovies and -nosound, but there was no improvement. I think it's failing on rsaenh.dll (the last thing it loads): Sadly, using a native version prevents of the rsaenh DLL prevents Steam from loading. If I replace it once Steam has loaded, I get a Steam pop-up warning me that the application is already running (which it isn't). In short, there is no easy work-around that I can see.
