After setting the video settings to max, I get a purple screen in the background of the main menu with the message "Out of Memory". I can still navigate through the menu, only the marine in the bg is missing.

Additional Comments
I used the Steam Version of the game. Had to set dwrite to disabled so the fonts in Steam were appearing and for the game itself i installed d3dx9 and vcrun2005.
