The test results for this version are very old, and as such they may not represent the current state of Wine. Please consider submitting a new test report.

What works

  • Everything I have tried, except microplayer and miniplaer (see below)
  • Playlists
  • Autoplaylists
  • Syncronising to a portable player connected to Linux in MSD mode (a SANSA in this case)
  • Autotagging from internet
  • Searching
  • Advanced searching
  • much more...

What does not

  • Using microplayer causes MM to vanish on my system.
  • Using miniplayer is erratic. The gui tends to lock up when dragging it around.

NOTE: Info on the MM wiki says syncing does not work.

It does on my system, using the Mass Storage Device DLL and a Sansa e200 layer. Can sync to micoSD and the player. Just set up the drives in Wine Configuration, pointing to your portable player in MSD mode.

Workarounds

Additional Comments

This was a highly detailed report originally with many tips and work-arounds, but that data was lost due to Winehq.org dropping the session after two hours of writing everything up. They have been notified. This report now only contains the bare minimum information. Install following the instructions provided here: http://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/index.php/Linux%2C_Wine_%26_MediaMonkey Note that those instructions are outdate. For instance, syncing works to MSD devices and perhaps other ones. Try them out. Remember to set up the Drives in Wine Configuration so that you can then select that drive (to your device) in MM device config.
