How To Play Quake Live: idea from: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1080957 1. Use winetricks: $sh winetricks msxml3 dotnet20 gdiplus riched20 riched30 vcrun2005sp1 flash firefox3 directx9 2. Copy the following from a windows XP installation: * secur32.dll * dnsapi.dll * rpcrt4.dll to your .wine/drive_c/windows/system32 directory. You also have to go into winecfg and set library overrides for secur32, dnsapi, and rpcrt4 (`native then builtin' will do) 3. Then installthe QuakeLiveNP.msi with the following command: wine msiexec.exe /i QuakeLiveNP.msi 4. Also downloadand install PunkBuster from: http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php Then with firefox login in quakelive.com and play! Note: The first time I launched the training game in windowedmode (default) but i couldn't move the mouse. I tried to fullscreen but the game crashed. The second try i opened the web with firefox in fullscreen (F11 key) and the game launched right. I play in fullscreen mode (Press ALT+ENTER) in 1280x1024 with high details, same performance as in windows XP. Sorry for my poor english :)
