launching from the terminal with: env WINEPREFIX="/home/me/.wine" wine "C:\Program Files\CrossFire\CF_G4box.exe" successfully runs the game launcher. however, clicking "Start Game" results in a crash, and a message of: "failed to load url of version.ini" in a pop-up box launching from the desktop icon (same launch command), the game launcher runs, and by clicking "Start Game", the game updated itself, downloaded GameGuard, then the game failed with a GameGuard Error 114: "GameGuard initialization error. Try rebooting and executing the game, or close the program considered to cause a collision" Very sad, as this game looked cool.
