Joining games & active servers with Firefox for Windows Playing games Launching Roblox Studio via the website DirectX and OpenGL rendering modes (OpenGL runs better.)
What does not
The shift key does not work, and random commas will be inserted if you have numlock on. Turn off numlock to make this more tolerable.
What was not tested
Not much, the game runs very well other than the shift key issue mentioned above.
You must run "winetricks vcrun2012 winhttp wininet" in a 32-bit wine prefix, using the latest in-development winetricks available on the winetricks homepage (see https://code.google.com/p/winetricks/). Additionally, you need to install Mozilla Firefox within your new wine prefix in order to launch games. Additionally, you need to run "wine regsvr32 `find $WINEPREFIX -iname NPRobloxProxy.dll`" if you would like to join games with the Windows version of Firefox. The game runs much better with the winetricks flag "ddr=gdi", however it may cause issues with some graphics cards. There is a script available for doing this automatically, visit https://github.com/alfonsojon/roblox-linux-wrapper to download the script.

In older versions of Wine, Roblox Player & Studio work far better with OpenGL graphics enabled.
To enable OpenGL mode, open the Roblox Studio, click "File", then "Settings", followed by "Rendering". A prompt will come up saying "Changing settings may make ROBLOX unstable". Click OK. Under the Rendering submenu, change the option "graphicsMode" from "Direct3D" to "OpenGL". Restart Roblox Studio.
The game should now perform much better.
We recommend using Wine 5.0 or higher.
The Roblox game client is using anti-cheat and security features (VMProtect) that prevent Wine (and other emulators) from connecting to servers.
The client will load up just fine and you will be connected for a brief second but will be forced into a disconnect within 10 seconds.
