What works

Install, start, tutorials, playing the game at 800x600 resolution

What does not

Mouse cannot leave virtual desktop window.

There are problems controlling the mouse at resolutions higher than 800x600; the higher the resolution, the more uncontrollable the mouse.

Some graphical glitches.

What was not tested

Playing more than a few minutes.

Hardware tested

  • GPU:
  • Driver:

Additional Comments

Giving it a bronze due to very limited testing. Need to install directmusic with winetricks or it will crash on start. Ran it in an emulated virtual desktop.

HowTo / Notes

(Updated 2015-04-20)

Needs winetricks directmusic, or it will crash on start.

When running from a terminal, cd to the program directory to run it (or use wine start /unix) or it will crash on start.

Mouse is unresponsive (bug 13351)

This may not be a Wine bug, as the problem has been reported by Windows users, too. The workaround in Linux is to use xinput to change your acceleration profile. In a terminal, run

and take note of the ID of your mouse. Then run

     xinput set-prop mouse-ID 'Device Accel Profile' 6

If your mouse still moves too slowly, run:

xinput set-prop mouse-ID 'Device Accel Velocity Scaling' 100

Since this affects mouse acceleration on your whole system, not just the game, you will probably want to change it back after exiting the game:

     xinput set-prop mouse-ID 'Device Accel Profile' 0
