What works

install-shield box appears, you can click into the install for about 2 steps...

What does not

install.

wine setup.exe

I couldn't choose a Country, and
the installer insisted I'd had to give it a name ( did ),
a serial# ( it appeared to not even ask, but fonts were screwed, so I don't know ),
and country ( gave me the drop-down box, but there weren't any choices in it )

Therefore install couldn't happen.

( instructions above said to NOT include the terminal output? OK )

Workarounds

What was not tested

Additional Comments

I'm going to buy VMWare Workstation & MS Windows to run it inside my normal Linux box, because I'm not running MS Windows on the metal -shudder-. Too bad, too, since this is THE video-editing app for low money, if one isn't living in a Mac. BTW, dotnet-1.1, dotnet-2.0, and dotnet-3.0 can't install, either. ( the app-demo seems to require dotnet 2.0 ) yes, I used wine-doors to install Mono-1, and installed IE7, to get as much fixed as I could, before trying this setup.exe one last time. I'm just providing this as a FYI, because *everything* I tried to do spewed errors, and I hope this gets working right, so people can use the apps we need, in the OS we trust, see ( : I was using the webpin version ( openSUSE "factory" or something? whatever it is, you just go to "webpin" and search for the package, and tell it what version of openSUSE you're running, and you get a bunch of variants/relateds, choose which you want, I went for the bog-standard Wine, "one-click-install" ( click, click, click... ), discovered nothing could be installed in it, did winecfg wine-doors wine ie7-setup... dotnet all 3 versions failed premiere elements failed...
