I have successfully got the updater to work you'll need to do a few things to get this going

Installing Directx:

I am assuming you all have moderate knowledge of things so here is the method of installing Directx 9.0

$ WineCfg

List of dlls that needs to be set.

You can set all the dlls in winecfg under the "Libraries" tab or just set the first dll "d3d8"="builtin" and then go to .wine/user.reg and find the DLL override section [Software\\Wine\\DllOverrides] and copy the above list under it.

Run DXSETUP.EXE and install to your wine directory

Run dxdiag and test it

Download mozcontrole and unpack it into /.wine/drive_c/Program files/mozcontrol

Navigate to that location and right click on mozctlx.dll. Select open with other application and type

wine regsvr32
