HowTo / Notes

HOWTO

Seeing Inside The Sun

The following allows the OU Video Player play the Seeing Inside The Sun video.  However, you can just watch the MPEG using a native media player.  Only do the following if you intend to use the OU Video Player (not really necessary).

  1. Download winetricks
  2. Run "winetricks ffdshow".
  3. When prompted by the setup, select "Decode the following video formats with ffdshow: MPEG-1".
  4. In the next two windows, select "Do not limit".
  5. When prompted by the Quicktime installer, deselect "Run Quicktime Player now" and click finish.
  6. When installation is finished, copy a native quartz.dll into ~/.wine/windows/system32
  7. Run "wine regsvr32 ~/.wine/windows/system32/quartz.dll"
  8. Run winecfg and add a library override for quartz to run native.
  9. Installation is complete.
