2013-05-03 Admin note: the instructions below are taken from a user comment posted in 2006, and may not be applicable to current Wine.
1) wine /mnt/cdrom/autorun.exe, klick "Play" to start the installation. Click "No" if you're asked to install "Gamespy Arcade"
2) get patch from www.atari.com/us/support/faq/moonbasecommanderdownloads_pc.asp and update to v1.1:
wine MBC_Update_v1.1.exe
3) get the following files (e.g. from an existing windows installation) and copy them to ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32:
* dplayx.dll
* dpnet.dll
* dpnhpast.dll
* dpwxsockx.dll
* dplaysvr.exe
4) run winecfg, and add overrides for dplayx, dpnet, dpnhpast and dpwsockx. Set to "Native (Windows)"
[ 5) copy Moonbase.exe from the install cd into your installation
directory if you want to play MBC without having to insert the cd ]
If you want to host a multiplayer game, add "HostIP=1" to /Moonbase.ini before starting Moonbase Commander.
If you want to join a multiplayer game, add "JoinIP=" to /Moonbase.ini before starting Moonbase Commander.
