What works

Just about everything.

Interactions with other programs seem to be stable (trainers, cheat engine, etc).

What does not

Severe performance decrease during "choose your plants" screen. Enabling DXVK does not solve the issue.

Workarounds

The game does not crash, and the mouse remains stable during the framerate drops. The issue is otherwise minor, but can be avoided by executing the non-drm executable located in drive_c/ProgramData/PopCap/PlantsVsZombies, named "popcapgame1.exe". Replacing the original PlantsVsZombies.exe file with this one or changing any existing links or shortcuts to point to this executable solves the issue.

What was not tested

Interactions with other programs other than Cheat Engine and some trainers.

Hardware tested

Graphics:

  • GPU: Nvidia
  • Driver: proprietary
