Tested on 10 yr old 2003 Laptop:
Sony Vaio PCG- FRV28, Intel 2.8 Ghz Pentm 4 / RAM 512 MB ,
ATI Radeon IGP 345M 64 MB, Screen 1024 x 768.
Installer works correctly, ( received one loading error on 1st attempt) 2nd try worked fine & there after too. Client loaded successfully, avatar completely visable, dress up works well, Shopping, My Room loads, chat rooms load, chat search, all avatars visable, chats & text visable, whole client seems to run very well, a bit slow at times, but that is due to "MY" limted RAM & older CPU issues not Wine or IMVU Client. Messages sent, Photos work, chat invites work well etc... Ran it for 3 hours, had multiple chats in various rooms. Wow !! ikr.. :)
Im Using " Bodhi Linux 2.3.0 " / 32 Bit / Non PEA
What does not
Have not found any yet...
What was not tested
" Walk Off" not tested or "Create Mode "
Did not use Wine Tricks, Just used Wine 1.6 to run program as is. Very impressed by whole experience & Bodhi Linux w/ Wine. If it works like this on my 10 yr old lappy then any other current machine should work exceptionally well. Only issue was as stated my Low RAM ( 512 MB ) & CPU caused some lag while loading or changing tabs, rooms, sections etc. Also seems to run Fine in "3D Direct" ( Graphics / Settings ? Advanced ) Open GL left holes & breaks in outfits for some reason ?? Standard works fine too.

[Note: A windows 7 would be nice to pull dll's from if you are dual booting or using wubi or like I was using virtualbox and just networked a shared folder to get the dll's I needed]
Step 1 - Install Playonlinux through Ubuntu Software Center
Step 2 - download the full install of imvu's client from the link provided here
Step 3 - Click on Install you can use the default wine prefix that is 1.4.1(System works) and then configure the prefix to be Windows 7/XP.
Step 4 - Give it a run see if it works, two errors pop up but if you just okay them it loads up.
If the fonts in game look distorted, make sure you install the "ttf-mscorefonts-installer" package, as this provides the windows fonts used by IMVU. You can install it easily on Debian/Ubuntu based distros by using the following command in the terminal ("Ctrl+Alt+T" is a keyboard shortcut to open it):
sudo apt-get install ttf-mscorefonts-installer
You should be prompted to enter your password for sudo as usual.
