Testing in a PC with a Pentium D dual with 3,4 GHz, 1 Gb of RAM and a 128 Mb ATI Video Card (X1300).
Installs fine using PlayonLinux script, which also installs the last game patches, .NET 2.0 Framework ang Wine Gecko Html engine.
The game needs a crack, and shouldn't run the Launcher, only the game program !
Loading times are something acceptable, but shows that game is an intensive hardware resources graphical program, which cause some slowdows when loads new elements in the gamefield. Also the save time is not to long (less than 30 seconds)
Testing some actions, like creating a Sim, and buy some objects to change the Sims houses.
What does not
There are some graphical problems, like high reflections on water and unrealistic brighter clothes, but is somehow acceptable.
Buying things causes several slowdowns, but I also thing that is a low memory problem ( 1 Gb of RAM is not enough to have an easy gameplay ), and a need to optimize Wine's code.
 Sometimes the game crashes.
What was not tested
Playing more than 20 minutes each testing session.
This game needs a REAL fast machine, and about 3 GB of RAM ! Or 4 or 8 Gb in a 64-bit machine, and a powerfull graphic card, or you will have a terrible gameplay.

To use the launcher you need to install dotnet20 via winetricks!
Receiving the following?
fixme:actctx:parse_depend_manifests Could not find dependent assembly

Fix by installing vcrun2005sp1 with "winetricks vcrun2005sp1"
If you have nvidia card and are having brightness issues, after entering the game, use the command 'nvidia-settings -l' (in terminal) or just launch the nvidia panel to solve the brightness problem. If the problem appears again, just repeat the command.
For ATI on Ubuntu 10.04 x64 the following works fine; Go to System->Control Center->ATI Catalyst Control Center->Color and click the Default button. The colors now change back to normal.
Bug 18991 (crash loading a town) fix:
env WINEPREFIX="~/.wine" TZ="America/Bahia" wine "TS3.exe"
Note: It might be best to change America/Bahia to your own TimeZone
Note that Greg Noe was able to download content (at least the Rivertown) by launching the Launcher from within the game, killing the TS3.exe process (launcher won't let you download while the game is running), and then just downloading like usual.
