launching individual applications from cmd.exe inside wineconsole.
What does not
Processes cannot fork to launch other processes, Cygwin does not recognize its symlinks, and X clients can not connect to local X server (running outside of wine).
What was not tested
Most applications, whether or not cygwin recognizes 'winsymlinks'
Cygwin relies on a windows style terminal, so command line programs will not work unless if they are launched from wineconsole. Anything involving forks hangs. This means bash runs just fine, but it can only launch built-ins. Also vi runs, but trying to out put to a process such as wc also causes it to hang.
