DRM-free, retail version from GOG.com
I opted not to install Adobe Reader.
I have tested several of the different setup options, and a few races.
What does not
-A graphical anomaly occurs when using a certain hardware setting.
I used "wine hardwaresetup.exe" to adjust settings. On the "Graphics Detail" slide bar, range is from "Speed" to "Quality", I set the pointer on Quality. Under "Advanced Settings...", the "Shadow Quality" slide bar, I set it in the middle. If I set it on "High", I get an artificial looking shadow (of sorts) blacking out parts of the track.
What was not tested
All settings using hardwaresetup.exe.
All tracks, multiplayer.
I gave it a Silver rating only because of the graphic anomaly when using a certain hardware setting. Otherwise, so far the game plays very well. |hardware used| emachines W3619 cpu: Intel Celeron D 3.46GHz RAM: 2GB video card: Nvidia GeForce 8400 GS |software used| GoboLinux 014.01 Manager 1.1.6 | Scripts 2.9.10 | Compile 1.12.3 | HAL-Info 20090202-r1 | Xorg 7.4-r2 #plus all dependencies | Nvidia-Xconfig 1.0-r3 | Nvidia 180.51-r1 | Wine 1.1.22
