HowTo / Notes

HOWTO: Make column sorting work

1) Install native comctl32.dll from Windows XP

1-a) for wine 0.9.43 and below:
just copy comctl32.dll from your Windows' system32 folder to ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32 (overwriting original file)

1-b) for wine 0.9.44 (and probably above):
create a directory x86_microsoft.windows.common-controls_6595b64144ccf1df_6.0.0.0_none_deadbeef in ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/winsxs and copy comctl32.dll there instead of ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32

2. Configure wine to use native comctl32.dll:
invoke winecfg from console
create a new application profile for AceMoney.exe/AceMoneyLite.exe using "Add Application" button on "Application" tab
select that profile
switch to "Libraries" tab
enter comctl32 to "New override for library" combobox
click "Add"
select comctl32 in list, click "Edit"
select "Native (Windows)" from list
click "OK"

 

Easier way for recent wine (as suggested by Tim Babych)

Delete the file (not directory) looking something like
~/.wine/drive_c/windows/winsxs/manifests/x86_microsoft.windows.common-controls_6595b64144ccf1df_6.0.2600.2982_none_deadbeef.manifest
then copy your comctl32.dll to ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32/ (only)
then setup overrides as described above in step 2.
