Additional Comments
If running in a non-16 bit color depth, it errors when the request for 16 bpp depth fails. Running X (or Xnest/Xephyr) at 16 bpp works around this problem (would be nice if Wine would auto-emulate lower depth). By default, trying to start has the graphics messed up with the component colors in three different places and wrongly placed. This may be resolved by selecting Win98 as the windows version. After changing to a 16bpp display and changing the windows version, the application simply crashes (http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=17086).
