Additional Comments

There is a problem with Wine when installing the Visual C++ 2005 Runtime assemblies (vcredist_x86.exe 2005 version from Microsoft or vcrun2005 and vcrun2005sp1 in winetricks) which are required by Carrara and which are part of the installer. The runtime assemblies install properly only the very first time they are installed and subsequent reinstalls cause the assemblies to be deleted from the .wine/drive_c/windows/winsxs folder and they cannot be reinstalled. If the assemblies are not properly installed, Carrara will fail on loading the Vertex Modeler component when run. The installer also needs the Wine Z:\ drive mapping to be set to a directory with write permissions enabled. Installation of the d3dx9 and corefonts packages with winetricks is also recommended.
