The program installs without problems. It starts and runs and recognises all serial ports on the motherboard and PCI adapters. It detects attachment of a flight recorder to any of the serial ports it has registered. It uploads flight logs from an attached model D flight recorder, clears memory, sets the flight recorder's clock and records pilot and glider details in the flight recorder.
What does not
It does not work with a USB->serial adapter: the adapter is not recognised and registered. This was tested with a pFranc USB-serial adapter. Registered serial ports are listed in a separate window. Under Windows this appears in front of the uploader's main window, but under Wine it is opened behind the main window. The port list can't be seen until the main window has been moved to one side. Once this has been done you can see the program recognise the flight recorder when its start switch is held down.
What was not tested
Everything has been tested
This is specialised software. It is only of interest to glider pilots who own or use an EW model D flight recorder. Admin note: rating changed to conform to rating definitions.
