Install and Running okay.
Some work-arounds:
Used winetricks to install font: microsoft core fonts (effects settings and player download screens)
Had to create a desktop entry and register it to get the links from the BBC website to kick off a download:
The desktop needed %u parameter to pass URL:
Exec=wine "path../BBC iPlayer Downloads.exe" %u
xdg-mime default bbc-iplayer-downloads.desktop application/bbc-ipd x-scheme-handler/bbc-ipd

Fedora YUM repo only contains wine 1.7x which failed to run. Compiled wine 1.6.2 from source and application runs okay; although getting all the dependencies correct for compiling the source with sound and jpg/png libs took some time.
