The 3d engine loaded as expected with no immediately apparent graphical anomalies. No audio problems have been noticed. All in-game menus function normally. Explosions seem ok, and ships sink as expected.
Careers, single missions, and training seem to work normally.
What does not
The small thumbnail window called the event camera, which pops up to view torpedoes getting close to their targets and the like, causes the rest of the screen to go blank. Normally it would work picture-in-picture style. This can be resolved by turning off the event camera.
In the museum the menu is blacked out, though ships show up normally. Menu items can be blindly clicked and do seem to work.
What was not tested
Did not have time for an extended test of later-career options. Multiplayer was not tested.
Steam was installed normally and seems to function as expected. SH3 itself didn't function until Wine was set to run with a virtual desktop. Beyond that, nothing fancy was needed to get it working. This was run on an nVidia GTX280 graphics card with the 180 series of drivers. No No-CD crack is needed for the Steam version.
