Additional Comments

1. install vcredist_x86.exe first! before we run EquityDietSetup.exe (you may copy vcredist_x86.exe from "~/.wine/drive_c/ODIN/Diet/" folder by installing EquityDietSetup.exe on a different .wine prefix/folder)

If vcredist_x86.exe is not installed before EquityDietSetup.exe, then install will not work. The installer tries to install vcredist_x86.exe during the installer is running EquityDietSetup.exe, somehow, wine seems to skip this step of vcredist install and makes the install useless.

2. Requires internet explorer for "Crashless" working of fundsview. we may use winetricks to install ie6.

3. Diet odin requires DietMasters.exe, NseMasters.exe, BhavCopy_Client.exe to be installed for MarketWatch and Scrips. get these from (or from your broker's website)

4. Activation key (registry entry for the software user), is not required in Wine, though we may copy the .reg file created by the Server3Diet.exe (activation key registry) at /tmp file whenServer3Diet.exe is running and import the .reg file using regedit.

Simplified Steps:
1. Install vcredist_x86.exe
2. install a) DietMasters.exe, b) NseMasters.exe and c) BhavCopy_Client.exe (example [Dates may change]
3. Run the application shortcut on the desktop. Have fun :)

I just installed and run the program successfully, no testing is done. Installed on ubuntu 8.10, in wine ver 1.1.25

First install Diet Odin main setup.

Then run Diet odin Patch.

and then run vcredist_x86.exe.

Now to run, just double click Diet Odin icon on desktop. Login window will appear.

After testing further details will be added.

Wine 1.2.2
by Vikrant Choksy on Sunday February 12th 2012, 8:59

I've been trying to get Odin to work on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS with Wine ver 1.2.2.

I was able to install the software but I'm not able to get any response when I click on the Odin Icon after installation.

Am i doing something wrong?

The process I followed was :
Run Vcredist
Run Odin Setup
Run ReportsSetup
Run SysDll Setup
Run Single-click Patch setup

There were no errors reported during installation.

Kindly help.

OdinDiet not working through wine
by Navi on Saturday October 8th 2011, 3:56
After installing Odin Diet application, I was able to start the application, but when I am trying to login I am getting following error

Connection Integrity Error (ReceiveStream)

it seems when I am unable to run the file Server21Diet.exe it gives me an error that might be the reason.

Can you guide me what to do next.
