I followed the instructions from here for the winetricks http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=605456 Replicated here: sudo apt-get install cabextract sh winetricks vcrun6 allfonts allcodecs dotnet11 dotnet20 directx9 comctl32 comctl32.ocx fontfix mfc40 mfc42 msls31 ole2 pdh urlmon wininet native_mdac The most important part of my test was (that actually launched the game): 1. I re-installed nVidia driver (something about libGL.so.1) 2. Setting sound 'Default Sample Rate' to 44100 (with Full hardware acceleration).
