What works
Game runs nearly perfectly. Max. graphic details enabled.
What does not
Game tends to freeze when exiting by "ALT+F4". No problems when exiting by game menu.
Workarounds
I used the instructions for Linux Mint 17.3 "Rosa". They still work perfectly:
- Setup a 64bit WINEPREFIX
- Install game by "setup.exe". Do not launch game yet.
- Start winetricks, set "3dx9_36.dll" and Windows XP mode
- Start game by /game directory/System/witcher.exe
What was not tested
Anything beyond Kaer Morhen
Hardware tested

If you are hit by bug #34052 (invisible character models), or flickering, set this key in the registry as a workaround (it happens on closed Nvidia driver, and to some on Mesa / Intel. It didn't happen to me with Mesa / radeonsi):
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\Direct3D] CheckFloatConstants="enabled"
Another similar issue is bug #46553 when some textures turn black indoors. For now, install d3dx9_35 native override to work around that.

`winetricks -q ie6`
You need a 32-bit wineprefix for it to install, though.
